How Number Base Converter works

Number bases are different written representations of the same integer. Binary uses digits 0–1, octal 0–7, decimal 0–9, and hexadecimal 0–9 plus A–F.

The converter interprets prefixes such as 0b, 0o, and 0x, turns the input into a numeric value, and renders that value in all four bases using browser number conversion methods.

This tool is intended for integers within JavaScript’s reliably representable range. Very large values, fractional values, signed bit widths, and two’s-complement interpretation require extra context and may need a dedicated big-integer workflow.
